Muhammad Hafeez announces retirement from international cricket

All-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, who played 55 Tests, 218 ODIs and 119 T20s for Pakistan, has formally announced his retirement from international cricket.


 Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Mohammad Hafeez said that he started his journey well 18 years ago.

He said that he always represented Pakistan with pride and I would also like to say to the young cricketers that whenever they play for Pakistan, they should play with pride and consider it an honor.

 Announcing his retirement, the national cricketer said: "I wish I could be a part of the T20 World Cup winning team. I worked hard but it was not possible.

Muhammad Hafeez, who opened his eyes in Sargodha on October 17, 1980, made his Test debut against Zimbabwe in Sharjah on April 3, 2003. He made his Test debut at the National Stadium in Karachi in August of that year and on August 28, 2006 in Bristol.  Muhammad Hafeez was also part of this team when Pakistan played its first international T20 under the leadership of Inzamam-ul-Haq against England.

 Muhammad Hafeet, who played in the 50 overs World Cup for Pakistan in 2007, 2009 and 2019, was dropped on the fitness ground by the then team management despite being selected in the 2015 World Cup, much to the chagrin of the former captain.  Because according to the medical report, Muhammad Hafeez could have been fit after only two matches of the event, however he was immediately deported from Australia to Pakistan.

 Muhammad Hafeez, who plays in the Indian Premier League in India, has played league cricket in Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, West Indies and South Africa, and after Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League, he plays for the Lahore Qalandars.

Muhammad Hafeez, considered one of the best players in Pakistan cricket, has now decided to retire from international cricket after 18 years of playing international cricket. However, all-rounders will be seen playing league cricket all over the world.

 Mohammad Hafeez scored 12789 runs in 392 international matches for Pakistan with the help of 21 centuries and 64 half centuries. Considered an authentic fielder, Mohammad Hafeez took 160 catches and 253 wickets as an off break Bowler۔
